Table for 10

Today's post comes from an internet cafe about 30 minutes from the Village of Hope orphanage in Gomoa Fetteh, Ghana. We arrived at the Village yesterday afternoon as we wait for the sitation in Togo to cool down. Today's news report was not encouraging.

In our "refugee" status, God has repeatedly shown his grace and his mercy in taking care of us. When we arrived here at the orphanage yesterday, they gave us a wonderful four bedroom guest house to stay in. One of the first things that we noticed is that there is a table for ten. Ten. Guess how many of us there are in our group. Ten. Could we have gotten by with a table for four or six? Sure. But God showed us that he knows our needs and is ready to meet them by providing a table for ten.

Today is my oldest son's seventh birthday. The rapid passage of time reminds me that I need to make every moment count, because times is short and that each moment needs to be lived in view of eternity, when moments will be no more.

Do you see the irony in refugee's being housed in an orphanage?

I am glad they are taking good care of you. I am sure and your family will do your share of ministering while you are there.

Happy Birthday Jeremy! I remember fondly Jeremy, Kenny Waldrop and my daughter Grace running through the sprinkler at the Waldrop's home in Helena. Now you are in Ghana, they are in Texas and we are in TN. Yet all still connected via God's love and the internet. Praise be to God.

Happy Birthday, Jeremy! Did you get something great? Did you have to share with your brother? That's just the way it goes.
Happy Mother's Day, Maureen! Did you have to share with Anthony? That's the way it goes, too. I have been praying for your return to Togo and your safety now and then. I be thinking of you all when we take communion this Sunday.
In Him,
Denise
